Things That Annoy Me

Recently, I found this BuzzFeed article about 28 things that will make you hate the world and I really did ugly cry after reading it.

I am a little OCD but really, BuzzFeed really? Comic Sans keyboard? AN EXPLOSION GIF THAT DOES NOT ACTUALLY EXPLODE? How am I supposed to go through my day now? While some people are give me the reaction, below, when I point out that they should remove the blond hair that's on their black coat, I will be have an OCD understanding with my fellow OCD friends.

In honor of my OCD-ness, I made a list of bookish things that make my OCD anger flare.

When I'm reading a library book and the page I'm on is dog-eared.

Like you couldn't find anything to use as a bookmark? Not even a random piece of paper?

Then I'm all like, time for a new book to read but there's no copy of it in the library.
The library's supposed to have everything. Everything.

Fine, I'll go another book. Then, the character does something stupid.

But the plot! The story! Do I read it? Or will it just get stupider?

It becomes a disappointment.

And at the end of the day, I'm basically like this.

  1. I have to admit I love the current trend in glasses. It really makes me wish I wore glasses and although I would never stoop to wearing fake glasses, I can't say it hasn't crossed my mind. It has, every time I see a girl with cute glasses on.

  2. Same, hahaha! I used to think about doing that all the time back when my eyesight was 20/20. Now that it isn't, I have an excuse to wear glasses.

  3. This book sounds really different that's for sure, but kind of intriguing. I think that if I were to read this the foot notes would aggravate me also.

One thing that messes a story up for me is when I go in expecting one due to it's description or synopsis but get something completely different. I'm glad that you enjoyed it although it was a different reading experience than you're used to.

    Thanks for your review!

  4. Well, I've had this ARC forever (it seems) but I did not know about the footnotes. Sounds like an interesting read....

  5. It's pretty good but the footnotes bothered me. Maybe you'll find them, okay?

  8. I've been wanting to read this for obvious reasons (I don't read that many books from PK writers because y'know they might anger me with their interpretation of the country).

I like how you began your review, I was confused for a second there but I get it. I like reading books where things go downhill and there's no way but to deal with everything. Most of Sidney Sheldon's books are like that. I think I will like this but then I borrowed Mothsmoke from my sister like a year ago but I haven't even touched it yet. Oops.
